What is the Create Thanos What Did It Cost Meme Online meme?
The Thanos "What did it cost?" meme is a two-panel template from Avengers: Infinity War showing young Gamora asking Thanos what his victory cost, followed by his reply: "Everything." It is used whenever a small win or petty achievement came at an absurdly high personal price.
Origin & history
After Thanos completes the Snap in Avengers: Infinity War, he awakens in an orange soul dimension where a child version of Gamora asks what his victory cost. His one-word answer - "Everything" - delivered with quiet gravity, became instantly memeable when stripped of context and applied to mundane trade-offs.
Reddit and Twitter users began pairing the exchange with captions about staying up all night for a mediocre result, spending savings on a impulse purchase, or sacrificing social life for a video game achievement. The joke relies on treating trivial personal costs with the same epic weight as Thanos sacrificing half the universe.
