Meme lore
What is the Carefully, He's a Hero meme?
This template shows the exhausted Spider-Man being gently carried by subway passengers after stopping a runaway train. The fixed caption frames an ordinary, reckless, or unexpectedly impressive action as heroic, often with affectionate irony.
Origin & history
The still is from Spider-Man 2 (2004), directed by Sam Raimi. In the film’s elevated-train climax, Spider-Man uses his webs and strength to stop a runaway train, then collapses. The passengers discover his identity and carry him to safety, creating the visual basis for the “Carefully, he’s a hero” caption format.
