Meme lore
What is the That’s My Secret meme?
A cinematic reaction template featuring Bruce Banner amid the destruction of New York. It is used to pair a calm-looking character or situation with a secret source of anger, strength, competence, or chaos.
Origin & history
The image comes from the 2012 Marvel film The Avengers, in which Bruce Banner arrives during the Battle of New York and reveals that his anger is the reason he can control his transformation. The exact point at which this uncropped still became a widely used standalone meme template is unclear.
