Meme lore
What is the Moe Throws Barney Out meme?
This three-panel Simpsons reaction template depicts Moe physically ejecting Barney, pausing in apparent relief, and then discovering Barney has returned. It is used for recurring problems, unwanted interruptions, habits, or people who keep coming back despite repeated attempts to remove them.
Origin & history
The image is a vertically arranged sequence from The Simpsons featuring Moe Szyslak and Barney Gumble in Moe's Tavern. Its visual progression naturally became a reusable template for a failed solution: the first panel removes something, the second suggests temporary success, and the third reveals its immediate return. The specific episode and broader online spread history are not established from the image alone.
