Meme lore
What is the Three-Headed Dragon meme?
A three-way object-labeling template featuring a stylized golden three-headed dragon. The left and center heads look serious and intimidating, while the right head is a goofy, tongue-out character, making it useful for jokes where two options are sensible and the third is chaotic, embarrassing, or unserious.
Origin & history
This template appears to be fan-made cartoon artwork inspired by King Ghidorah, the three-headed kaiju associated with the Godzilla franchise. The exaggerated contrast between the two stern heads and the derpy right head gives it a natural three-item comparison structure. Specific original-art attribution and first meme usage are unclear from the image alone.
