Origin & history
This is a still from Bird Box, the 2018 post-apocalyptic thriller starring Sandra Bullock. In the film, characters cover their eyes to avoid seeing a supernatural threat, making the blindfolded boat scene a natural visual shorthand for ignoring danger, information, or an uncomfortable reality. Its broader meme spread and earliest captioned uses are unclear.
