Meme lore
What is the Lois Griffin Crowd Applause meme?
This escalating-reaction template alternates between Lois Griffin delivering statements and a crowd that goes from sitting quietly to cheering and applauding. Add increasingly bold, obvious, or pandering statements so the final line earns an exaggerated crowd reaction.
Origin & history
The image uses consecutive frames from a Family Guy sequence featuring Lois Griffin speaking at a podium in front of a decorated audience, followed by the audience applauding. Online meme versions commonly repurpose the progression to depict statements that become increasingly provocative, simplistic, or crowd-pleasing; the popular label sometimes includes references to 9/11, but that subject is not visibly present in this image.
