Meme lore
What is the Théoden: Let Them Come meme?
This single-panel reaction image shows Théoden mid-shout in dark armor. Its force is not surprise or panic: the caption turns an approaching pile-on into a deliberately overdramatic challenge. It fits a short declaration that welcomes the thing everyone else would avoid.
Origin & history
In The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, King Théoden of Rohan prepares to defend Helm's Deep against Saruman's army. The line is a concise expression of defiance in the face of impossible odds, which makes the close-up reusable for mock-heroic reactions.
