Meme lore
What is the The World If meme?
The World If template uses an optimistic illustration of a highly advanced, orderly future city to joke about how perfect society would be if a trivial change, unlikely condition, or absurd rule existed. Add a short caption beginning with “The world if” or describing the imagined improvement.
Origin & history
This template appears to be based on a polished science-fiction concept illustration depicting flying vehicles, advanced transit, and futuristic architecture. It became associated with caption formats imagining an ideal world resulting from a small or ironic change, though the precise artist attribution and earliest meme circulation are unclear.
