Meme lore
What is the Trojan Horse meme?
This visual metaphor shows a seemingly harmless gift or delivery concealing an unexpected payload. Add a label to the horse for the outward appearance, a label to the hidden soldiers for the real contents, and a label to the people at the gate for the unsuspecting target or enabler.
Origin & history
The underlying scene is a modern cartoon adaptation of the Trojan Horse episode from Greek mythology, depicting the horse being brought toward a fortified city while soldiers hide inside it. Its exact illustrator, publication source, and meme circulation history are not established from the image alone.
