What is the For The Better, Right? Anakin And Padme meme?
This four-panel Star Wars reaction format shows Anakin making a statement, Padme initially responding with enthusiastic approval, Anakin offering no reassuring follow-up, and Padme realizing the implication may be disturbing. It is used for jokes where a seemingly positive plan becomes suspicious, authoritarian, reckless, or otherwise much darker than expected.
Origin & history
The template uses a 2x2 sequence of close-up film stills from Attack of the Clones. Its recognizable structure depends on the contrast between Padme's wide smile in the upper-right panel and her worried expression in the lower-right panel, with Anakin's serious look and silence setting up the reversal. Different versions commonly add dialogue or captions to only three of the four panels.
