Meme lore
What is the Philosoraptor meme?
Philosoraptor is a classic advice-animal template built around a green velociraptor posed as if deep in thought. Captions usually present an oddly specific question or paradox in a serious tone, turning everyday observations into mock philosophy.
Origin & history
Philosoraptor developed from a stylized green dinosaur illustration used in early internet image macros. The format spread through advice-animal meme sites and social media, where its exaggeratedly thoughtful pose became associated with questions that sound profound but are usually absurd, circular, or pun-based. Exact first-use details are unclear.
