Meme lore
What is the Marie Kondo Spark Joy meme?
The Marie Kondo Spark Joy template contrasts something that earns enthusiastic approval with something that should be discarded or rejected. The original image places Marie Kondo in two stacked scenes on the left and leaves matching blank panels on the right for labels, screenshots, or images.
Origin & history
Marie Kondo’s KonMari method asks people to keep only possessions that “spark joy.” Her television appearances, especially Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, made the phrase broadly recognizable. Meme makers adapted contrasting screenshots of her approving and rejecting gestures into a four-panel layout with empty spaces for comparing any two subjects.
