Meme lore
What is the Disappointed Pakistani Fan meme?
The Disappointed Pakistani Fan template features Muhammad Sarim Akhtar standing in the crowd with his hands on his hips and an intensely disapproving expression. It is commonly used for expectation-versus-reality jokes, failed plans, underwhelming results, and moments when there is nothing left to say.
Origin & history
Muhammad Sarim Akhtar was photographed in the spectators during a Pakistan cricket match, visibly reacting to play on the field. The broadcast still was later repurposed online as the 'Disappointed Man' or 'Disappointed Pakistani Fan' reaction format. Specific details about the earliest meme usage are unclear.
