Meme lore
What is the Alignment Chart meme?
The D&D alignment chart meme maps anything onto Lawful / Neutral / Chaotic across the top and Good / Neutral / Evil down the side. Classic use is nine examples in the grid; the six axis labels stay editable so you can keep the original morality axes or rename them for a custom two-spectrum joke.
Origin & history
Blank 3×3 grid with unlabeled left and top margins. Alignment itself is from Dungeons & Dragons (1977 two-axis system). Internet reuse of the empty chart as a sorting meme is documented from ~2008 fan charts and a 2012 Polyvore template; this particular PNG is a clean unlabeled grid, not a screenshot of a published chart.
