Meme lore
What is the That Sign Won’t Stop Me Because I Can’t Read meme?
This template pairs a large editable yellow warning sign with D.W. confidently standing beside it. Replace the blank sign with a rule, warning, disclaimer, or instruction that the character is humorously unable or unwilling to follow.
Origin & history
The visual comes from Arthur, an animated series based on Marc Brown’s books. Meme edits commonly use a cropped or composited scene of D.W. beside a blank yellow sign, adding a warning or instruction to the sign and often retaining the caption about not being able to read it. The precise origin of this edited template is unclear.
