Meme lore
What is the Good One, Manny! meme?
The panel shows Greg Heffley's family in a car while Manny tells a joke. A large blank speech bubble takes the new claim; the baked “GOOD ONE, MANNY!” response makes the praise read as sarcastic. It works best when the editable line is a confidently bad take, a tired trend, or an obviously unhelpful idea that deserves a deadpan family reaction.
Origin & history
The panel comes from Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days by Jeff Kinney. In the book, Manny Heffley entertains his family during a car ride with increasingly nonsensical jokes; the family initially humors him with “Good one, Manny!” before the repetition wears thin.
