Meme lore
What is the Mr. Bean Copying Exam meme?
This classic reaction template shows Mr. Bean attempting to copy from the student beside him during an exam. Add one caption over each person to frame the joke as an imitator copying a source, idea, style, answer, or trend.
Origin & history
The image is a still from Mr. Bean's exam storyline, in which Bean tries to manage an examination while looking toward the work of a nearby student. Online meme users repurposed the recognizable glance as a visual shorthand for copying, imitation, plagiarism, or quietly taking inspiration from someone else's work. The specific first viral upload is unclear.
