Meme lore
What is the Whatcha Got There? A Smoothie meme?
This two-panel reaction template contrasts an obvious, bizarre situation with a deliberately mundane answer. The top panel presents the question, while the bottom panel shows Spencer Shay calmly answering about his smoothie despite an ostrich beside him. It is used when someone gives a technically true but evasive explanation for something impossible to ignore.
Origin & history
The image is a still from iCarly featuring Spencer Shay with an ostrich and a smoothie. In the scene, another character asks what he has there, and Spencer responds with the conspicuously incomplete answer, “A smoothie.” Meme adaptations preserve the contrast between the obvious subject of the question and the evasive literal answer.
