Meme lore
What is the Cat Sitting On A Floor Of Money meme?
This is a photorealistic wealth-reaction image rather than a standardized character meme with a fixed catchphrase. The cat’s calm, centered pose contrasts with the extravagant money-covered floor, creating an easy visual shorthand for being inexplicably rich, financially unbothered, extravagantly spoiled, or surrounded by money under questionable circumstances. The background person and second cat add a domestic, candid quality that can support jokes about household finances, pet ownership, or a cat secretly controlling the family budget.
Origin & history
The exact source of this photograph remains unconfirmed. It appears to be a staged or candid indoor snapshot of a black-and-white cat posed on a wide grid of U.S. hundred-dollar bills, with another cat and a seated person visible in the room. Web results document several unrelated viral “cat with money” stories, including a 2018 report about a cat sleeping on dollar bills and earlier stories about an office cat associated with found cash, but no reliable result conclusively links those stories to this specific photograph. The image’s circulation history and original context should therefore remain described cautiously.
