Meme lore
What is the Man Running From Riot Police meme?
This reaction-style photo template shows one person escaping while an authority figure pursues him from behind. Add the pursued person or problem to one caption and the runner’s identity or excuse to the other for jokes about avoidance, panic, and consequences catching up.
Origin & history
The photograph appears to document a nighttime or winter urban confrontation involving a riot-control officer and a fleeing civilian. It has been repurposed online as a generic visual metaphor for running away from trouble, responsibility, authority, or an uncomfortable situation; specific original-event details are uncertain.
