Meme lore
What is the Hiding From a Serial Killer meme?
This four-panel template turns a slasher setup into bait-and-response dialogue. The killer calls out in the lower-left bubble; the hidden person answers in the lower-right bubble and reveals themselves.
Origin & history
The image is a stylized four-panel cartoon parody of slasher-film imagery, particularly the hockey-mask-and-knife visual associated with Jason Voorhees. Its precise source and creation date are unclear, but meme usage centers on the contrast between the killer’s threatening appearance and a banal or absurd call-and-response.
