Meme lore
What is the Cereal Guy Spit Take meme?
Cereal Guy is a classic rage comic reaction format. The character calmly eats cereal while an unseen setup occupies the blank left side, then sprays cereal from his mouth after reading or hearing something surprising. It works best for sudden realizations, ridiculous reveals, and exaggerated disbelief.
Origin & history
This template comes from the broader rage comic style: simple black-and-white line drawings arranged in sequential panels with a recognizable reaction face. Cereal Guy became associated with calmly eating cereal before reacting dramatically by spitting it out, making the image a durable format for punchline reveals. Specific authorship and first-publication details for this exact version are uncertain.
