Meme lore
What is the A Center For Ants meme?
A Center for Ants is a reaction template from the 2001 comedy film Zoolander. Derek Zoolander presents a miniature architectural model and reacts with disbelief when it is far too small for its intended purpose. Add a setup in the top caption and use the bottom caption for the punchline or the phrase identifying the absurdly undersized result.
Origin & history
In Zoolander, Derek Zoolander is shown a model of a proposed school or center and objects that it is much too small, asking how children are supposed to learn in a building that cannot accommodate them. The visual of him presenting the undersized model, paired with the famous line about a center for ants, became the recognizable template for mocking disappointing scale, scope, or execution.
