Meme lore
What is the Toy Story Everywhere meme?
The Toy Story Everywhere meme (also called the Buzz Lightyear Everywhere format) comes from Woody exclaiming 'Buzz Lightyear! Buzz Lightyear everywhere!' when Andy receives duplicate Buzz toys at his birthday party. It is used to highlight when something has become overwhelmingly, redundantly omnipresent.
Origin & history
In Pixar's Toy Story, Andy's birthday party goes wrong for Woody when guests gift multiple Buzz Lightyear action figures. Woody looks around in horror and delivers the now-famous line about Buzz being everywhere, capturing the feeling of being overrun by an unstoppable new trend.
Meme makers stripped the scene down to a simple repetition gag: name something ubiquitous in the top text, then repeat it with 'everywhere' in the bottom text. It spread across Reddit, Tumblr, and Twitter for everything from seasonal decor and crypto hype to a newly viral TikTok sound that will not stop appearing in feeds.
