Meme lore
What is the Utya Duck Laughing GIF meme?
Laughing Duck is a reaction-GIF template from the Utya Duck family of animated Telegram stickers. It shows a yellow duckling laughing with exaggerated intensity, making it useful for captions about finding something absurdly funny, mocking a ridiculous situation, or reacting with unrestrained schadenfreude.
Origin & history
The visual is best attributed to the Utya Duck or Telegram Duck sticker series created by Serbian artist Egor Zhgun. The sticker family was made for Telegram beginning in 2019 and consists of low-resolution animated yellow ducklings expressing different emotions and actions. A laughing duck variation was later reposted on GIF and social-media platforms, where it became a standalone reaction image. The exact first upload, title, and original caption for this uncropped laughing version are not firmly established, so the specific frame should not be attributed to a separate cartoon franchise.
