Meme lore
What is the Volume Up Crying Guy meme?
This reaction template pairs a volume control being turned up with an exaggerated crying reaction. Add a caption describing a song, sound, or situation that becomes increasingly emotional, dramatic, or overwhelming as the volume rises.
Origin & history
The visual combines two complementary ideas: a physical volume knob being pushed toward the highest setting and a close-up of someone crying while listening. The crying-person image is commonly associated with online reaction imagery, but the precise source of this composite version is unclear.
