Meme lore
What is the Blursed Mermaid Pool Photo meme?
This reaction-style image uses an underwater optical illusion to make a person look like a mermaid beneath a pool. Add contrasting top and bottom captions to frame the scene as a bizarre misunderstanding, an unexpectedly cursed transformation, or a literal-versus-assumed situation.
Origin & history
The source appears to be a casual pool photograph captured through or across the water, with the underwater swimmer, hair, and large blue fish-like form creating the mermaid appearance. The exact source and date of the image are unclear, so it is best cataloged as an internet-circulated surreal reaction image rather than attributed to a specific creator.
