Meme lore
What is the 2026 Met Gala Bathroom Group Selfie meme?
This template is a 2026 Met Gala bathroom mirror group selfie associated with model Bhavitha Mandava’s widely circulated photo from the event. The image includes BLACKPINK members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa alongside other guests including Margot Robbie, Ayo Edebiri, Gracie Abrams, Rachel Sennott, and additional attendees. Its appeal comes from the contrast between an extremely exclusive fashion event and the familiar, chaotic setting of a crowded restroom. Add a top caption to establish the situation and a bottom caption for the punchline, reaction, or contrast.
Origin & history
The source image appears to be a genuine bathroom mirror selfie from the 2026 Met Gala, held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Bhavitha Mandava appears to be the person taking the photograph, with the central phone visible in the mirror. Reported participants include BLACKPINK’s Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, as well as Margot Robbie, Ayo Edebiri, Gracie Abrams, Rachel Sennott, Awar Odhiang, Audrey Nuna, and others, although some peripheral identities are difficult to verify from the cropped meme image. The scene also belongs to a longer-running Met Gala convention of guests taking unauthorized or unofficial bathroom selfies despite the event’s well-known no-selfie policy.
