What is the Bro Handshake meme?

Bro Handshake (also called Epic Handshake or Predator Handshake) is an object-labeling meme based on the muscular arm-wrestle greeting between Dutch and Dillon in the 1987 film Predator. Each arm represents a different group, and the clasping hands represent something both sides unexpectedly agree on.

Origin & History

In the opening bar scene of Predator (1987), Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch greets Carl Weathers' Dillon with an exaggerated bicep-flexing handshake that turns into an arm-wrestling match, accompanied by the line 'Dillon! You son of a bitch.' The campy machismo made the scene a natural target for YouTube recreations starting around 2007.

The labeled meme format emerged from fan art - notably Rory Dean's May 2012 watercolor on Flickr - and went viral on Twitter and Reddit around 2017–2018.
