What is the Pointing Guy meme?
Pointing Guy is a four-panel comic. A blank-faced figure points directly toward the viewer while a woman gradually explains why there is supposedly no reason to worry. The format works as a fake reassurance: the first caption minimizes the figure, then the second reveals who or what the pointing is aimed at.
Origin & history
The visual joke is the persistent first-person pointing pose and the woman's changing reaction. Captions belong in the two speech bubbles of the final panel, turning an apparently harmless gesture into a targeted or ominous reveal.
