David Mitchell plays a Nazi officer in the That Mitchell and Webb Look sketch commonly known as “Are We the Baddies?” The skull emblem on the cap prompts the characters' uncomfortable realization that their side may be evil. A close-up from the scene became a reusable image macro and reaction template for moments of suspicion, hypocrisy, or belated self-awareness.
